 The LaMotte Insta-Test® 4-way pool and spa strip provides very reliable results in just an instant! Simply dip the strip in a pool or spa, swirl three times and the results are ready. LaMotte Insta-Test® 4-way measure Free Chlorine or Bromine, Alkalinity, pH and Total Hardness all on one strip. The unique Pop Top bottle has a molded desiccant liner that protects the strips from moisture damage. The LaMotte Company has specialized in water analysis since 1919, and offers a complete line of Insta-Test® strips for the pool and spa owner's needs. For best protection, test twice a week.

 IMPORTANT TIPS

• Store strips inside the home, away from extreme heat or sunlight.
• To open cap, push up with thumb and carefully pull out a strip.
• Avoid wet fingers inside the vial and close the vial tightly right after removing the strip.
• To close cap, press the center of the cap down firmly until it stops.
• In pools, immerse the strip to elbow depth and swirl three times to test the pool water.
• In spas, turn off jets and immerse the strip 6" below the water surface and swirl three times to measure results.

 Instructions

• Immerse strip in pool or spa water and swirl 3 times (in one foot circle)
• Remove strip with the pads face up and DO NOT shake off excess water.
• Read results beginning with the end of the pad Free Chlorine or Bromine and finish with Total Hardness.

 FREE CHLORINE - CL (Ideal range: pools 1-3; spas 3-5ppm)

Indicates the "active" amount of chlorine sanitizer in water to protect bathers.

 BROMINE- BR (Ideal range: pools & spas 3-6ppm)

 ALKALINITY - ALK (Ideal range: 80-120ppm) The ideal level of Alkalinity prevents sudden pH changes.

 pH (Ideal range 7.2-7.6) The ideal range of pH must be maintained to keep water from causing corrosion or scale. If this pad ever turns purple, the sanitizer level is too high. If it turns yellow the pH is to low.

 Total Hardness - TH  (Ideal range 250-450) Indicates the level of Calcium and Magnesium in the water. The ideal range of Total Hardness should be maintained to keep the water from causing corrosion (low) or scale (high).

   Chlorine 0 to10 ppm, Bromine 0 to 20 ppm, Alkalinity 0 to 180ppm, pH 6.8 to 8.4, Total Hardness 50 to 800 ppm
